OUR MISSION
BE A SHINING LIGHT... ON AND OFF OF THE STAGE
At Musical Theatre East, our mission is to shine brightly both on and off the stage. We inspire creativity, confidence, and excellence through theatre in a Christ-centered environment, leading with kindness in all we do.
Musical Theatre East operates unlike most theatre companies. Here, everyone who registers for a production is guaranteed a role in the show (space permitting). While registration secures your spot in the cast, auditions help us match each performer to the role that best aligns with their skills, experience, and fit for the part.
At MTE, we welcome students ages 5 through 19 to experience the joy of theatre. Our year-round programs are designed to provide opportunities for everyone, regardless of experience. Every registered student has the chance to shine on stage. We believe that the path to building confidence and skill starts with inclusion, not exclusion. That’s why our productions cast all who register, creating a supportive environment where students of all levels work together to produce incredible shows.
Even with this inclusive approach, our artistic team delivers high-quality productions that captivate audiences and showcase the God-given talent, gifts & abilities of our performers.
At MTE, every role matters, and every performer has a chance to grow, learn, and shine!
FAITH & VALUES
Musical Theatre East is a Christ-centered organization rooted in biblical truth. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that there is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who lived a sinless life, died for our sins, and rose again, offering salvation through faith in Him.
Our faith guides the way we lead, teach, and serve others. We believe every person is created in God's image and deserves to be treated with love, compassion, kindness, and respect. We strive to reflect the character of Christ in all that we do, encouraging students to use their God-given gifts and talents with purpose.
While our foundation is firmly rooted in Christian beliefs, we joyfully welcome students and families from all backgrounds. Our desire is to create a community where every student feels valued, encouraged, and loved.
OUR PHILOSOPHY TO STORYTELLING
We recognize that not every element of the stories we tell will align with our Christian beliefs.
Theatre reflects the human experience, including imperfect people, difficult choices, and the realities of living in a broken world. Portraying sin or difficult circumstances onstage does not mean we endorse them. Even the Bible tells stories of flawed individuals, reminding us of the forgiveness, and redemption.
We are intentional about the productions we select and remain committed to our Christian values. We also respect that every family has different convictions and encourage parents to familiarize themselves with each show's content before registering.
Our faith remains at the heart of who we are, even when the stories we tell reflect a world that does not always reflect our beliefs.
