MTE is making plans to attend the 2027 Junior Theatre West Festival in Sacramento, CA!
Students ages 10-18 are eligible to audition.​
What is JTF?
JUNIOR THEATER FESTIVAL (JTF) is the world’s biggest and best celebration of young people performing musical theater. JTF brings together student musical theater troupes from all over the world for a weekend of musical theater mayhem and madness. Each troupe performs fifteen minutes from a Broadway Junior or KIDS show for adjudication by a panel of musical theater experts. The weekend features workshops for students, directors and parents, a New Works Showcase featuring new musical adaptations soon to be released and concludes with a grand finale concert headlined by Broadway’s best! The Junior Theater Festival is sponsored by Playbill, Disney Musicals and Music Theatre International.
Show, Auditions, Rehearsals
Students will be performing a fifteen-minute cut for adjudication at the festival from the Music Theatre International Junior collection. This group will officially be known as our JTF27 cast. Once we have a final headcount, we’ll pick a show that best fits our group.

Auditions videos are due no later than May 1st, 2026.

In your video, please slate and briefly tell us why you want to go to Junior Theater Festival.

Your video should include 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song that best showcases your vocal ability. Please record using an instrumental track, no acapella singing is allowed.

In the SAME video, please also record a video of the audition dance combo. (Coming soon!)​

Rehearsals will be held Friday afternoons in the fall/winter at Hosanna Lutheran Mesa (9601 E Brown Rd. Mesa, AZ 85207) An official schedule will be sent after casting. ​
