FAQ & POLICIES

We offer 3 different age groups.
Shining Stars Cast (Ages 5-9) JR. Cast (Ages 10-13)
Mainstage Cast (Ages 14-19)
Registration is completed online through our website during open enrollment periods. Typically, registration will open 8 weeks prior to auditions. Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Musical Theatre East produces multiple productions each year. We offer one show per age group during both the spring and fall semesters, and a combined, all-ages production each summer.
Tuition for MTE productions varies by show and helps cover the many costs involved in creating theatre — including facility rentals, royalties, sets, props, and instruction in acting, singing, and dance. Tuition also includes free parent tickets to all performances.
Because we rely on tuition to go towards production expenses, tuition is non-refundable even if you decide to drop out of a production.
Costuming differs by program:
Shining Stars & JR. Casts: Parents are responsible for costuming their child with guidance from our team.
Mainstage Cast: Our costume team provides full costumes — families only cover shoes, tights, and personal garments (plan for $25–$50).
We understand that our families have busy schedules, and we deeply appreciate any time you can give. While volunteer hours are not required, we do kindly ask parents to lend a hand whenever possible.
There are a variety of opportunities to serve- especially during Tech Week and performances, such as helping with box office, concessions, errands, or backstage monitoring. Every bit of help makes a difference and allows us to continue providing a high-quality experience for our students.
We do require every family to stay and help with tear down after the final performance.
